Water Boatman Small

This listing is for a small water boatman. These live in freshwater and suck the juices from plants, algae and decaying vegetation of various kinds. Algae typically grows in our various aquatic insect tanks and these insects do well in such tanks. They mostly hang out near the bottom of the tank and thus occupy an area of the tank that other aquatic insects in the tank spend less time in. Great in groups!

Adults of a small species measuring under a centimeter. $2 each

We recommend that you choose overnight shipping. We ship them in moist sphagnum moss. Because they breathe air through their abdomens, water quality isn’t the same issue for them as it is with fish, etc.

Do not release the adults into your backyard pond features, etc. They do not belong in your local ecosystem and may cause harm to your native balance of species.
