The future of the pet bug hobby is bright and we aim to cater to the growing interest in aquatic and terrestrial set ups, and the crossover tanks known as paludariums.

5 small beetles for $15

It’s early days for this product and as such we introduce it to the hobby simply as a 5 pack of small beetles. All of these will be suited to moist tanks, whether you have actual water in your tank or just moist substrate. We recommend you limit ventilation in their tank if you don’t have a water feature of some kind, like paludariums tend to have.

Overnight shipping is highly recommended, especially if temps in transit will be near freezing or over 83 degrees.

These beetles are predatory but will leave each other alone if they have hiding places and other foods to nibble on. Most of them will be ground beetles measuring 1/4 to 1/2 inch in length, but we may occasionally throw in a rove beetle when they are available. Some of them may be colorful. Often we have Chlaenius in this mix and bombardier beetles, the latter of which are famously explosive if you touch them (which we do not recommend as it stresses them out and uses up a biologically expensive defense mechanism). They are all predatory to some extent, and scavengers. We offer them dead insects and fish food pellets (related products below) though on or the other probably works just fine most of the time. They will also feed on fungus gnats and their larvae.
