Read below because lots of people don’t and then they aren’t prepared for how small captive-bred regal jumping spiders are. Please note, at this age they all look very much alike and similar to every photo you see on Google of the spiderlings at this age. We offer them at an affordable price, but we do not send photos of individual specimens, sorry.

The spiderlings that we are offering are immatures that hatched in early August of 2024.

This listing is for young 4th to 5th instar captive-bred Phidippus regius. They are very stable and currently feeding very well on D. melanogaster or D. hydei fruit flies, even though their own mass is nearly the same size as fruit flies at this stage. We cannot sex them as they haven’t nearly taken on their sexual colorations or characters yet.

Many people love to watch their spider grow up, and of course there are many people who prefer to buy captive-bred vs. wild caught spiders. We recommend that you keep them in a small container until they grow a bit larger. This way they will be nearer to their food. Be sure there are no gaps in their enclosures that are big enough for them to escape through.

The regal jumping spider Phidippus regius is one of the most popular pet spiders in the arachnid hobby, which is mostly dominated by tarantulas, of course. These natives are one of the largest species in the US though these are young, small specimens.

Note that photos on this page do not represent the young ones being offered in this listing. The pictures are of adults. Regal jumping spider immatures look different each time they molt, until they reach maturity. Adults that are born from the same egg sac will always reflect varied coloration that cannot be predicted by looking at the younger spiderlings.
