Description
Aphonopelma chalcodes is one of the most common hobby species. These Arizona blond specimens are from my property here in Arizona and are probably A. chalcodes. I collect them only during rains when they are out of their burrows and likely to be eaten by predators (and often because the wander into my barn where other animals also like to wander for shelter). We do not dig them up in the wild and I don’t collect obvious males that wander through the property, though smaller ones offered through this listing may later develop into males.
Approximately just under 3/4 of an inch in legspan. Feeding on small crickets or red runner roaches or blue bottle flies.
