Phidippus clarus Captive Bred Spiderling

Description

Phidippus clarus is the Brilliant Jumping Spider and the coloration of the species and its chelicerae do not disappoint!

Females of the species have a wide range in coloration and, to the casual observer, two individuals could look like entirely different species. Two of the color forms are pictured on this page but the primary image is the mother of the spiderlings being offered through this listing.

Captive bred spiderlings of Phidippus clarus now available at 3rd to 4th instar. These were born 11-10-2025. They have been raised on D. melanogaster fruit flies (see related products below) since they were first instar and we recommend that you continue to feed them these fruit flies through the next couple of molts before they graduate to larger foods. Adult males (also pictured) usually have a black band through a red-orange abdomen and a black cephalothorax. Faint white speckles may appear on the abdomen and white “racing stripes” usually appear on the top side of the pedipalps.
