Nigerian Rustred Tarantula

Description

Hysterocrates laticeps is the Nigerian Rustred Tarantula. Here’s a link to the Google Photostream of the species, although the keywords sometimes generate other images, FYI. They are similar to the more familiar H. gigas but these are grayish-brown rather than orange-brown.

Current specimens have legspans of 1/4 to 1/3 inches. This species likes to burrow. Express mail is required. We always recommend that you do not handle things that can bite you.
