IMPERFECT Giant Desert Centipede Scolopendra heros

Description

This listing is for an IMPERFECT Giant Desert Centipede Scolopendra heros, the largest US centipede species. These are rarely offered in the hobby. Be very careful to consider the venom level of this species and do your research on bite reports for them.

Current specimen is around about 6 inches in length, on average (see all the “approximations” in that sentence?). They have the common orange and black coloration, as pictured. Unsexed only. Not for children. Venomous.

NOTE: The nature of the imperfection on this one, and hence the drastically lower than usual price, is a single black blemish/spot that is on the left side of the body near one of the legs (7 pairs up from the terminal legs). No photo available, sorry. Buyer beware! This specimen has been kept here as a pet to see if it would molt out now for 5 months but has yet to molt. We do believe it is otherwise in perfect health and may molt back to perfection at some point.
