Hierodula venosa Giant Golden

Description

Hierodula venosa Giant Golden is a cousin to the Giant Asian Mantis, Hierodula membranacea. These large mantises have a classic shape and are a great beginner’s species. What’s particularly special about this species is that they throw a variety of colors as they grow, with adults being either green, brownish or sometimes rose gold. Not uncommonly they mature into a beautiful golden color, and sometimes with green on them too as the video below reflects.

L2/L3 or so nymphs/immatures (have shed one or 2 times). Currently feeding on house flies (see related products below), or D. hydei fruit flies.
