Embaphion planum

Description

Brand new to the website, Embaphion planum is cousin to the pie dish beetle, E. muricatum. Please note that we are currently confirming the ID on them and may adjust the title of this page within a day or two of their (first ever) listing, 10/22.

The pronutum on these has a flange that runs along the perimeter and the texture of the elytra is slightly granular.

This is not a large species at around half an inch but they are distinctive in appearance and as always, in the name of diversity, a fun addition to any desert beetle tank! It is my opinion that every dedicated, desert beetle keeper must see Embaphion at some point!
