Description
The Phidippus apacheanus Coral Bean Apache CB Spiderlings offered on this page are now available as 4th to 5th instar spiderlings. This means they have molted 3 to 4 times.
These are small, young spiderlings. Date of birth is April 23rd, 2025. Watch your spider grow up! They are currently feeding on D. melanogaster fruit flies (related products below). It may be of interest to know that at third instar, these are the same size as fourth instar regals.
The mother of the spiderlings being sold on this page is a beautiful coral color and we named her Coral Bean after our beloved, local coral bean plant which drops beans of this same color through washes in the desert habitat, from which this spider also occurs. Here legs are black with whitish-gray hairs and her eyelashes are black. Her face is white and her chelicerae are metallic green. We’ve only ever seen three females with this coloration and her vibrancy sets her apart from most other Apache jumping spiders. Her offspring will not necessarily reflect her coloration, but we are committed to showing you what each mother looks like…because people like information. The father had normal coloration for the species (which is always insanely beautiful!).
Phidippus apacheanus is arguably the most attractive native jumper species in the United States. Adult males are very brightly colored, often two-tone and adult females are typically a yellow-tan to orangey-gray color. Leg coloration varies a bit from individual to individual too. Best of all, the species is strikingly colored through all stages of the life cycle. From sling to juvenile to adult, the variability in patterning and color from molt to molt will make you feel like you’ve had multiple pet spiders along the way, and these are as photogenic as they come! You can click the secondary thumbnail photo to see what a slightly older juvenile tends to look like.
Even the young spiderlings of this species are absolutely striking and more colorful, no offense to gorgeous regals, than any regal jumping spiderling of similar age ever is.
Secondary photo is of juvenile (a little older than the ones being sold on this page)
Third photo is of an adult male
Fourth photo is of the same mother of the spiderlings being sold on this page.
Some food and caging products are listed below.
Be sure to read my Jumping Spider Care Sheet which covers everything from purchasing, to unboxing to care through the life cycle.
