Cloud Jumper Paraphidippus fartilis Spiderling

Description

The Cloud Jumper Paraphidippus fartilis is the orchid mantis of the jumping spider hobby.

$50 each. We require overnight shipping for this species!

Adult females of the species often display bright white coloration, with gray, black and sometimes orange markings. Adult males have a base color of black, often with a purplish or green metallic sheen and white spotting. Spiderlings and juveniles are white to yellowish, with gray and black.

Available through this listing as captive-bred spiderlings (immatures), unsexed only, at $50 each. They are 6th instar and date of birth is 07/01/2026. Please note that this species is much smaller than regals and so a 4th instar regal is about the same size as a 6th instar cloud jumper. But cloud jumpers are a more slender species and so they don’t even quite have the mass at 6th instar of a 4th instar regal. We’ve decided not to sell this species until 6th instar (previously we offered them as young as 5th) because many people surf in from social media and buy this popular species on a whim, without doing much research on their size.

Limit one per person. They have been feeding on fruit flies since first instar and are plenty stable on them at this point, of course. We recommend D. melanogaster or D. hydei fruit flies.

We do recommend slightly higher humidity for this species than for any other jumping spider we offer on this site.

The main photo on this page is a 8th to 9th instar juvenile, while individuals sold through this page are younger. Secondary photos are of adult spiders and you can see both female and a green phase father (sometimes males are purplish). And then we show a 2nd instar spiderling.

2026 is the first year that we have personally captive-bred this species, and so we dropped the price a little bit from previously when we were buying and reselling them.

This species is featured in the first video below, though no adult females are included in the video.
