Description
This listing is for a single larva (immature) Chrysina beyeri jewel beetle. Sold unsexed, and seasonally available each year. Jewel beetles are considered by many to be the most beautiful beetles in the US.
Adults of this species feed on fresh oak leaves, and will eat beetle jellies to some degree.
Note that the photo on this page shows the adult beetle that your immature, grub-like larva will eventually grow into. More photos at Bugguide.net.
Larvae can be raised on oak flake soil and then successfully pupated without clay, but more and more successful keepers are using it to line the bottom inch or so of the enclosure later as the larvae approach metamorphosis/pupation.
