Cloud Jumper Paraphidippus fartilis

Description

The Cloud Jumper Paraphidippus fartilis is the orchid mantis of the jumping spider hobby. Females of the species often display bright white coloration, with black and sometimes orange markings. Some females are more gray than others. And adult males are spectacular in their own right, with a metallic green sheen over blackish, purplish, reddish bodies with white dots on the abdomen.

Available as juveniles, unsexed only, sorry, at $55 each. It’s one per person (sorry again) on this rarely offered species and if we could sex them, believe us we’d list them that way and sell the females for more money. Hopefully in late 2026 we can bring the price down to more reasonable levels, but for now we are working with a breeder to buy and resell them and so the prices will remain high because our price on each one is high. We will hope to get another shipment early in the near year. That’s how the biz works, but it is our consistent effort to offer captive-bred jumping spiders at prices that allow everybody access to the hobby.

Captive-bred juveniles are now available as of 12/17/25. They are 6th to 7thth instar and have been feeding on fruit flies since the first instar and so they are plenty stable on them. They are currently feeding on D. hydei fruit flies (related products, below) and can pretty much take smaller house flies down with no problem, although they are quicker to jump on the fruit flies at this point.
