Description
Xystocheir dissecta is a flat millipede species in the family Xystodesmidae. They fluoresce brightly under UV light.
Note: this species does secrete cyanide gas when it feels threatened, and you should not handle them or put them near your face (or eat them). An interesting article about them and a beetle predator of theirs: This Millipede and Beetle Have a Toxic Relationship | KQED
These are known to be difficult in captivity but they are frequently enough discussed by hobbyists to warrant a listing for those who want to attempt to crack the code on their care.
$5 each
We offer them a wood heavy substrate. Little is known about their ideal care, sorry.
