Wooly Darkling Beetle

Description

Eleodes osculans is the Wooly Darkling Beetle. I’m not sure why these American beetles have adopted the British spelling of woolly but they apparently have. These beetles have a fine red-orange coating of hair (setae) covering their abdomens. Cute and active, they are a great addition to any desert beetle tank.
