Cousin to the ghost mantis.
Description
Phyllovates chlorophaea, AKA “Texicorns” are a native US species with a very exotic flavor. They are brown and a bit striped looking. Their contrasting green wings at maturity have two black stripes on them. A unicorn-like horn adorns their head, hence the familiar common name “Texas Unicorn Mantis.” This is a great species for beginners. They get larger than most other species in the pet mantis hobby and who doesn’t love a native mantis?
Available as L4/L5 nymphs (have shed their skin three or four times). $21 each. They are taking house flies or prey of similar size. See related products below.
