Description

Scolopendra viridis comes in a couple color forms and they are uncommonly offered. Available specimens measure about 1 to 2 inches long and probably mature at under 3 inches though data on the internet seems a little thin on this point. Photos can be found on Bugguide. Current color form is the paler Arizona form that is an orangey-brown with blueish markings.

This is a winter-active species in the mountains of Arizona and so they shouldn’t probably be kept as warm as S. polymorpha tiger centipedes.
