Description
This Scolopendra dehaani is NOT a beginner’s species. They have venom of medical significance to humans. Any person wishing to purchase this species must email me their Facebook link or otherwise prove their age as over 18. Don’t take a bite from this thing! Tongs are recommended for cleaning and tank maintenance as these can snap back on your hand in less time than it takes for you to blink your eye. Don’t blink!
Read this archived series of posts by people who have been bitten by these centipedes (note that Scolopendra dehaani was formerly called Scolopendra subspinipes dehaani but was raised from subspecies to species at some point, and is also apparently the largest of the group of six similar species.).
One specimen left, measuring about 4 inches body length. It has considerable growing to do up to or around 8 inches. Common names are tricky maybe, but this is the Asian Giant Yellow Leg variety. This is the last of 15 or so specimens and I don’t plan to offer this species again, due to venom.
