Red-stripe Darkling Beetle

Description

Eleodes suturalis and Eleodes hispilabris are very similar looking beetles though the latter is slightly smaller. Both species have a nice red band that runs down the middle of their otherwise black bodies and may be present in my small grouping. As darklings go these are large species, both comparatively long and quite broad. You can see photos of them on Bugguide.Net. Limited supply. Exact species unknown. These are definitely the largest desert beetles on the site right now!
