Description
Phidippus otiosus is the Canopy Jumping Spider and it ranges across the Southeastern US. It is one of the largest species that we offer, along with regals and agave jumping spiders.
In this listing we are offering 4th to 5th instar captive-bred young spiderlings. They were born on 12/29/25 and are currently feeding on D. melanogaster fruit flies. They will grow to be a medium-large Phidippus species, not quite reaching the size of the popular regal jumping spiders but larger than many.
Coloration can vary from white to black and shades of brown to gray, and they usually have ornate patterning on their abdomens. Legs are often very bristly or fuzzy looking. The most recognizable feature of the species is their long “eyelashes,” lending them a very feminine appearance.
The mother is pictured on this page, but her coloration is only a reference, and the spiderlings will change the way they look with each molt and will display a range of coloration upon maturity that is unpredictable.
