Description
Phidippus nikites is a very pretty Western jumping spider species! They are very similar in coloration to the slightly larger Phidippus apacheanus, but with a few differences. Most obviously, the adult males often have coloration on their front legs that matches the abdomen and cephalothorax. This is very unusual in the genus Phidippus and lends this species a credability at least as contender for the prettiest US jumping spider species. Spiderlings and juveniles of the species tend to be much paler than other species, and very beautiful all the way through!
Update 1/21: Babies have hatched as of today! The spiderlings will need to molt a couple times, feeding on fruit flies, to achieve a size that is safer for us to ship them as very stable young spiders. Please get on the waiting list if you’d like to be notified of their being listed as available!
