Hierodula venosa

Description

The genus Hierodula exhibits large mantises with a classic shape and all of them are great beginner’s species. Our favorite is Hierodula venosa. What’s particularly special about this species is that they throw a variety of colors as they grow, with adults being either green, brownish or sometimes rose gold. Not uncommonly they mature into a beautiful golden color, and sometimes with green on them too as the video below reflects.

L4/L5 or so nymphs/immatures (have shed one or 2 times). Currently feeding on house flies or blue bottle flies (see related products below).
