This kit comes in two DIFFERENT forms.

Option #1: The Functional Cage $22.00 (photo shows millipede version of cage but not all elements for desert cage, as included below):

• Clear plastic rectangular shoebox container–It measures 13 5/8 X 8 1/4 X 4 7/8 inches, and with a good sealing white lid. Enough air transfer happens between the lid and container that you don’t need to punch holes in it.
• A desert blend substrate.
• Half log hide–this is a 180 degree hide that can be buried partly into the substrate to provide a hiding place for your pets.
• 3 Beetle Jellies–food for your pets.
• Cholla cactus wood chunk–an attractive desert-themed decoration.

Option #2: The Display Cage $27.00 

Includes the following products as pictured:

• Round Terrarium (as pictured)–This is a standard pet store type of cage offering with a diameter of 10 inches and a height of 5 inches.
• A desert blend substrate. (photo is of a forest blend but we’ll ship a desert blend)

• 3 Beetle Jellies–food for your pets.

Blue death feigning beetles, darklings and other desert beetles are perhaps the perfect, pet bugs! All these beetles can be kept together, mixed and matched as you like. Their care is very simple and many can be kept together in a smaller space than might seem reasonable. Even given room to spread out, they often huddle together during the “heat of day”. These are desert beetles and they do maintain a rather natural schedule even at room temperature in our homes. They are most active in the evening hours.

They get the moisture they need from the little bits of fruit or vegetable you might offer to them every week or month. They do like to nibble on bits of dog or cat food too, if you have such megafauna sharing your living space. 3 beetle jellies are also offered as part of the kit and are a suitable food source for several months.

As the sun comes up they will often duck under cover and so there is also a hide (half log) included with this kit. A piece of cholla cactus wood also lends a desert vibe to your terrarium.

Pets really don’t get much neater or simpler than this!
