Description
The Western Eretes Diving Beetle, Eretes sticticus, is pictured on Bugguide.net where they mention that this species “has the fastest development of any diving beetle, from egg to adult in 15 days.”
These aquatic insects live communally in tanks with the other aquatic beetles we offer. They are slightly larger and flatter looking than Thermonectus spp. and seem to swim more quickly.
We simply drop various dead or dying bugs in their tanks like crickets, moths or roaches and they predate them. We prefer moths or house flies since they float.
These live in freshwater. Because they breathe air through their abdomens water quality isn’t the same issue with them as it is with fish, etc. Provide a small bit of floating material in the tank for them to hold onto.
Live arrival is guaranteed with overnight shipping in the sense that we will refund you for the specimen if it doesn’t make it (but no refund on shipping, sorry).
