Thistle Mantis

Description

These captive bred Thistle mantises are very rarely offered on the pet market. As adults they are green with ornate white striping on their wings and white banding on their legs. They thrive in hot, dry conditions and for this reason may not be suitable for beginning mantis keepers. They have difficulty climbing smooth surfaces and so a textured strip of paper towel or sticks should provide a ladder for them to reach the upper parts of the container (for molting). Blepharopsis mendica come and go in the hobby every few years, but are rarely available to mainstream enthusiasts. Don’t miss your chance!

Available as ~L2/L3 nymphs (have shed their skin one or two times). $16 each, unsexed.
