Description
Phidippus nikites is a very pretty Western jumping spider species! They are very similar in coloration to the slightly larger Phidippus apacheanus, but with a few differences. Most obviously, the adult males often have coloration on their front legs that matches the abdomen and cephalothorax. This is very unusual in the genus Phidippus and lends this species a credability at least as contender for the prettiest US jumping spider species. Spiderlings and juveniles of the species tend to be much paler than other species, and very beautiful all the way through!
Update 4/04: Our first clutch of spiderlings for this species is coming along and since it is small group, we’ll be listing the spiderlings individually as they molt to 4th instar. They have been feeding on D. melanogaster fruit flies since the first instar and are even more stable on them now at 4th instar, of course. Please get on the waiting list if you’d like to be notified when more are listed. We do have additional egg sacs that will be hatching as warm weather comes on and so we are on the very front end of availability for you with this species for the remainder of 2026!
$29.99 each, unsexed, as they are young/small.
Photos on this page are of adults, while the individuals available for sale are young, small, 4th instar spiderlings.
Please check out the two videos below from our YouTube Channel. The first video describes info for care and set up for your new pet jumping spider and shows an adult on the fountain, and then the second video shows 2nd instar spiderlings of Phidippus nikites.
