Lethocerus Giant Water Bug

Description

The Lethocerus giant water bug is also called a toe biter. The available species is Lethocerus medius. These aquatic insects feed on live prey including crickets and roaches (and live fish and tadpoles in nature).

These live in freshwater. Because they breathe air through their abdomens water quality isn’t the same issue for them as it is with fish. Provide a bit of floating material in the tank for them to hold onto.

These do have moderate venom and it hurts if you get bitten.

Currently available as adults, unsexed. Remaining lifespan unknown. Overnight shipping required.
