Description
The Desert Hairy Scorpion Hadrurus arizonensis is the largest US species. Venom is considered relatively mild, similar in pain to that of a bee sting. Buyer beware. This is an aggressive species and will sting if provoked (making feeding time very entertaining, of course).
Small specimen available. It is approximately 1 to 2 inches head to tail (not including claws/chelae which make it look longer). Grows to about 4 inches.
It’s worth noting that a great clean up crew for desert hairy scorpions is the blue death feigning beetle. Lots of keepers keep these two species together in communal cages, and the two species are sometimes found beneath the same rocks in nature.
