Description

The Phileurus truncatus triceratops beetle is a BEAST of a rhino beetle! Adults relish some of the same jelly products and fruits as other rhino beetles but they crave a protein source and will tear other bugs apart to get it. I’ll never forget a long time ago when I put one of these into a container with a Chrysina beyeri. The triceratops beetle made a meal of the beautiful jewel scarab, breaking through its hard shell and sucking out the soft innards.

They are difficult to sex and so these are offered unsexed. Order more than one and we’ll do our best to send a variety in sizes and/or horn-shaped specimens. $18 each

We feed these beetles with beetle jellies and also freshly deceased insects. They are known to live a couple years but no guarantees for these adults as remaining life span is never known.
