Paruroctonus silvestrii

Description

The California Common Scorpion is Paruroctonus silvestrii. Despite being called common, we rarely seem to source these.

This is in my experience the most defensive/aggressive scorpion in the US. They are super quick to flick their tail at any perceived movement near them. It’s makes for great viewing, but be careful with this species. That said, stings are not considered to be medically significant (more like a bee sting) for the average person w/o unusual allergies.

Juvenile to adult specimens measuring 1 to 2 inches. Sold unsexed.
