Micro Wooly Darkling Beetle Captive Bred

Description
This listing is for captive bred Eleodes littoralis is the Micro Wooly Darkling Beetle. These are very similar looking to the larger “wooly darkling beetles,” Eleodes osculans, that are sometimes offered in a separate listing on this site.
These beetles have a fine red-orange coating of hair (setae) covering their bodies and measure under a centimeter in length. They are cute, active and a great addition to filling out the “understory” of any desert beetle tank. Their antennae are disproportionately longer than those of other tenebs, in relation to their body length, and they sort of flop them around as they explore their surroundings.
$4 each
We document the development and captive-breeding of this species in the 2026 video below (sorry if you don’t like spiders as the video is mostly about them). 😉
