Dichotomius Dung Beetle

Dichotomius colonicus is a large black dung beetle. They are somewhere around the size of a nickel (coin). I’ve not seen a larger US native.

Yes, they eat dung. They don’t seem picky but we have little information about the preferences of this species. Appreciate you letting us know if your pet’s poop works for them! Not for release outdoors.
