1. Choose Express Mail in the dropdown menu below for our live guarantee if your nighttime low the night before delivery is BELOW 33 degrees. Your package will be unloaded from a plane during the coldest hours of the night. Due to the weight of this product, an additional $16 is required for this faster/safer shipping option. Make sure to match this choice with “$27 Express Mail” later, at checkout, after you leave this page.

2. You have the option to choose slower, cheaper Priority Mail in the dropdown menu below. Keep in mind, if you are also adding living roaches to your shopping cart, that our live guarantee only extends to situations where your nighttime temps the night before delivery are ABOVE 33 degrees. Your package will be unloaded from a plane during the coldest hours of the night. Due to the weight of this product, an additional $8 surcharge is required for this cheaper shipping option (see dropdown menu). Later at checkout, after you leave this page, you will select the matching $13 Priority Mail option.

This kit comes in two DIFFERENT forms. One is highly functional and this is the one I recommend. The other may look more like a display cage but it has a lot of ventilation in the lid and this can cause too much dryness, escape problems for young roaches and it is just generally smaller.

Option #1: The Functional Cage $12.99 (a better option in terms of care and the number of roaches than can be kept in it)

Includes the following as pictured (1st, 2nd and 3rd photos, plus 2 roach jellies):

Clear plastic shoebox container–It measures 13 5/8 X 8 1/4 X 4 7/8 inches, and with a good sealing white lid. Enough air transfer happens between the lid and container that you never need to punch holes in it. This is the ideal lid for a pet roach habitat. As the seal isn’t airtight, all those delicious oxygen atoms pass right into the container. Meanwhile the humidity in the substrate is less likely to evaporate for at least a month.
Substrate: By default we send coconut fiber for roaches but if you mention the species you are keeping in the “instructions” field or have special requests, please let me know.
Half Log Hide–This provides a perfect shelter for your pet insects. (sometimes substituted with an acrylic version that is more expensive if we run out of the wooden version)

Option #2: The Display Cage $15.99

Includes the following products as pictured (4th photo only):

Rectangular Kritter Keeper–This is a standard pet store type of cage offering. It measures 9 X 5.5 X 5 inches high. I consider them to be inferior to the Option #1 cage that I offer, above, but they are arguably prettier and better for display of specimens.
Substrate: By default we send coconut fiber for roaches but if you mention the species you are keeping in the “instructions” field or have special requests, please let me know.
Half Log Hide–This provides a perfect shelter for your pet insects. (sometimes substituted with an acrylic version that is more expensive if we run out of the wooden version)

Each Complete Cockroach Habitat Kit comes with a cage option, the right substrate, a hide and 2 jellies for them to eat. This product combination is everything you need to successfully raise cockroaches.
