Description
Brand new to the website, the Coelocnemis dilaticollis Monkey Teneb is a large tenebrionidae family desert beetle that occurs on the Pacific Northwest to Montanaa and Wyoming, and south to California.
They have long legs and seem to be semi-arboreal, and are a decent sized beetle, compared with many other tenebs (family tenebrionidae beetles). They remind me a little bit of the old barrel of monkeys game that your parents’ parents played with when they were kids.
$6 each.
One of the diagnostic features of the genus are golden hairs that line the undersides of the lower portions of their legs.
