Bullet Teneb

Description

Another brand new beetle to the website, the Bullet Teneb is Coniontis sp. These are actually in the same sub-family, Pimelliinae, as blue death feigning beetles and within the family Tenebrionidae.

These are sleek and look like they were made to travel through the air, rather than for terrestrial applications, and hence the name bullet teneb. I figured that had a better ring to it than rat turd beetle.

These are new for us, but they seem to be happy living communally with other teneb species and sharing the same food and habitat preferences. They have a cylindrical shape that is historically unique in our offerings. They measure maybe just over a centimeter and so they are rather small, but offered here at a cheaper than average price as we gauge their suitability as a communal species with the other tenebs listed on the site.
