Brunner’s Stick Mantis

$16.00

Out of stock

Cousin to the ghost mantis.

Description

Brunneria borealis is a really unique species in that males are unknown. Females of this species, as stick-insects are able to do, reproduce parthenogenetically. Males are neither known in nature nor required whatsoever. They reach about 4 inches in length and have long, thin bodies. They are a pale, tan color in the early instars and eventually phase to green as they get older and mature. They have only vestigial wings and are incapable of flight. Truly an odd species and native to the US!

$10 each. Available as L2 nymphs (have shed once and are nearly 3/4 inch long…large for a second instar mantis).
