Description
Arenivaga are native US roaches, often found in sand dunes and similar habitats. Males are pale and winged, while females are nickel-sized and just as round, and resemble beetles. The species is very similar in appearance to our Egyptian desert roaches, but paler in coloration. This stock is from Texas and may be Arenivaga bolliana (Boll’s Sand Cockroach). These roaches are in the roach family polyphagidae, feeding primarily on decomposing, dried leaves. They tolerate a lot of dryness in their tank and a substrate mixed with sand seems appropriate.
Tiny nymphs now available 5 for $8.
