Plusiotis beyeri

    Plusiotis are, in many peoples' opinions, the most beautiful US beetle species.  4 species are know to occur in the United States.  These 3 are found in various parts of Arizona, although they are more common in the Southern part of the state.  P. bayeri, with its metallic-lavender legs, is the largest.  P. lecontei is the smallest, and rarely seen.
