Phyllium siccifolium (PSG 76)

One of my favorite species because it fairly uncommon in culture, and then it is a Phyllium at the very least!  It differs from other cultured Phyllium by having narrower margins on its legs.  The abdomen also comes to a distinct point.  Nymphs hatch out with orange coloring on their legs, and are already a bit green in places.

Foodplants: bramble, Wax Myrtle (Myrica californica)

3rd-instar siccifolium, note sharp triangular abdomen and thin legs.

2nd-instar

Brown when first hatched
